At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 Contribution of teaching unit  to learning outcomes assigned to programme 
With regard to the learning outcomes assigned to the Master's programme in Interpreting, this teaching unit contributes to the development and acquisition of the following goals: 2.1, 2.3, 3.3, 6.4
 On completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Deploy analytical methods and comprehension techniques and demonstrate the capacity to digest information in rapidly decoding the content of a text drafted in French and rendering it fluently in LSFB;
- Practise theory-informed transposition techniques to perfection
- Detect underlying socio-cultural references in a text and render them appropriately in LSFB;
- Demonstrate flexibility and mental acuity in adapting without hesitation to novel communicative situations;
 
Content
Texts from various media, of particular interest to the deaf community (family allowances, disability allowances, statutes of an association, etc.)
Teaching methods
Face-to-face lessons.
Tutorials in the interpretation room.
Homework (individual exercises)
Students learn to sight translate with a focus on text analysis. They work individually or collectively, they can correct each other or work on the basis of comments provided by the teacher who will have viewed the performance.
Evaluation methods
Formative assessment during the semester
June and September sessions:
- oral exam (100% of the final grade): sight translation of a 40-line text about a topic close to those covered in class. The student will be assessed on his ability to deverbalize, and on his level of LSFB (level B2+/C1 expected)
