Main themes
Emphasis will be on a critical use of various sources in efforts to reconstruct the geography of ancient times. Students will be shown how to use a cartographic software program, following which they will search libraries and archives for cartographic documentation.
Aims
At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to : | |
| 1 | Sensitivization to various sources and methods of historical geography : written sources and toponymy, earth sciences, archeology, aerial photography, iconographical sources and ancient cartographic documents. |
