Notions of History of science (especially Astronomy, Arithmetic, Geometry, Geography) in Middle Age (Western, Byzantine and Islamic civilisations).
Teaching methods
After a few overall introductory sessions and other more specifically concerned wit the reading of textual sources (in translation), this seminar offers strudents tthe opportunity to do a personal research (with supervision) on a a chosen topic,which they will have to present orally (during the seesions of the course) and in writing. 
Evaluation methods
There is no exam. Final marks are given for the oral and the written presentations, taking also into account the active participation and committment of the students during the whole period of classes.
Il n'y a pas d'examen en session. La note finale porte sur les présentations écrite et orale d'un travail en lien avec une thématique du cours, ainsi que sur la participation active des étudiants aux séances.
