Reading knowledge of English sufficient to allow for the study of contempoaray texts in the philosophy of the human sciences
Main themes
The course will attempt to present concepts of culture, as well as certain elements of the evolution and interrelation of different cultures. Various texts in philosophy and the humans sciences will be analyzed in the study of this notion of culture.
Aims

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 Upon completion of the course the student shall be able to :
  • identify several broad tendencies in the philosophy of culture
  • understand the conditions of intercultural dialogue o relate questions of philsophy of culture to questions in cultural anthropology
  • to take account of cultural dimensions within philosophical reflection
