Although we do not yet know how long the social distancing related to the Covid-19 pandemic will last, and regardless of the changes that had to be made in the evaluation of the June 2020 session in relation to what is provided for in this learning unit description, new learnig unit evaluation methods may still be adopted by the teachers; details of these methods have been - or will be - communicated to the students by the teachers, as soon as possible.

Main themes
The seminar will demonstrate that the student has effectively begun a program of research into a subject that is appropriate for a thesis in the Master 120 programme, that is, a project for original research that can be completed within two years.
Aims

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 Upon completion of the Master's thesis preparation seminar, the student shall have demonstrated :
  • the ability to determine and define an original subject of research
  • that this subject has been approved by a professor by the end of the fourth quarter
  • the ability to establish an ample bibliography on the subject
  • the ability to state working hypotheses and methodology clearly
