Main themes
This seminar is part of the scientific supervision provided by the dissertation supervisor and is aimed at ensuring student autonomy in the writing of their dissertation. It allows students to assess their progress in their research and enables the supervisor to offer feedback and advice.
Aims

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 Define a relevant research project in the framework of the Master's dissertation.
 
2 Master the chief methods of collecting and treating data.
 
3 Fittingly use epistemological, methodological and editorial propositions in the framework of the Master's dissertation.

Introduction to specific methodologies according to the chosen discipline.

Students should contact their supervisors. The differences between the disciplines and topics taught in LING imply that the teaching methods depend on the topic of the dissertation. The supervisors may organize traditional seminars or offer one-on-one encounters with the students.

Validation of LING2891 is granted in the first year provided that the student writes a state of the art chapter with a reference list (min. 25 entries).
