Content
Literature review and understanding of the stated problem. Definition of work plan. Development of an appropriate methodology for solving the problem. Development of algorithms and programming (e.g. MATLAB, C ++, etc.). Simulation studies. Performance evaluation. Writing of a final report and final presentation.

Work in small groups, supervised by a tutor. Regular presentations of progress. (Students will be encouraged to write their reports or defend their project in English)
Evaluation methods

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the information in this section is particularly likely to change.

Students may be evaluated individually, during a written exam, an oral exam or a combination of these, depending on the specific practical conditions.
Moreover, the students present and defend their project in front of a jury composed of instructors, possibly supplemented by other tutors who have contributed to the supervision of the project.
Failure in the individual evaluation may decrease or remove the importance of the group evaluation.
An oral exam can be organized in case of plagiarism concerns.
Other information
This course is part of the set of “Project 4” courses of the baccalaureate program in civil engineering. Projects 4 share common transversal objectives but are broken down into various versions with distinct disciplinary objectives, corresponding to the program streams. Each student chooses the project proposed by one of his/her fields.
