Regarding the competency framework of the program, this course contributes to the development of the following learning outcomes:
B2. To plan an intervention in order to improve a difficult situation (at the individual, group, or organizational level);

Content
The lessons focus on behavioral problems in educational settings (bullying, delinquency, drop-out, addiction, suicide...), factors related to the persistence or the evolution of these problems, and interventions targeting those factors. From a common introduction, groups of students will have the opportunity to choose one behavioral problem to investigate. With teacher support, they will have to find more information about definition and prevalence, risk and protective factors, prevention and intervention programs, assessment tools, and existing agencies related to this problem. Students will rely on research findings, knowledge about educational organizations, and analysis of a real case, to propose a relevant intervention and ways to foster its implementation.
