Content
What are the technical and artistic professions involved in project design? Each project has its own specific organization and resources!
Project management requires a mastery of management and planning, technique and negotiation, but also transversal aspects such as good communication and collaboration with the team to be managed, the final client and suppliers.
This seminar aims to develop students' knowledge and understanding of project management tools and methodologies used in the world of ICT device design.
Rather than theoretical presentations, the seminar will feature speakers from different industries who will present different case studies, a pragmatic and realistic approach rather than a single method.
This seminar has the double objective of awakening students to existing methods and tools, as well as to the specific professional realities and constraints and the resulting design choices.
The seminar is structured around a few key points:
- Project initiation and launch;
- Project management methodology, task and activity planning;
- The realization of the project and the animation of the team: to consider the human aspects, to establish participative dynamics;
- Finalization of the project;
- Case studies.

Teaching methods
The teaching method is based on the ex cathedra presentation of tools and techniques used by professionals, as well as moments of discussion with the students (learning-debates). A method based on interaction and experimentation alternating with theoretical courses to lay the foundations for good practice.
Evaluation methods
Evaluation based on attendance and follow-up of presentations (6 points).
Continuous evaluation will be based on the preparation of quality questions to be addressed to the speaker.
Attention: if the student formulates a question judged superficial (e.g. simple question of precision), poorly documented/justified OR redundant with another question already asked (note: the questions will be communicated via the course forum), he/she will obtain only part of the 6 points.
Evaluation based on the realization of a final work of analysis (realized in binomial) of a professional practice, tools and methods of conception used (14 points).
This work is accompanied by two remote monitoring sessions with the teacher:
- A first (short) session prior to the interview, in order to validate the choice of the person who will be interviewed on the basis of his/her function and the company that employs him/her, as well as the interview grid that will be used to conduct this interview.
- A second post-interview session to check that the groups of students have understood how to fill in the sections of the assignment (structure available on Moodle).
Second session:
The student will have to complete the final work on his/her own without the support of the teacher and will be evaluated solely on the basis of this document.
Other information
Resources: presentation materials, useful links and other external resources (reference book, etc.) will be made available to students on the Moodle platform of the course.
English-friendly course
  • Questions: students can ask their questions in English
  • Evaluation: students can conduct their interview in English (if the informant speaks English) and the report can be written in English.
