Prerequisites

The prerequisite(s) for this Teaching Unit (Unité d’enseignement – UE) for the programmes/courses that offer this Teaching Unit are specified at the end of this sheet.
Content
Several museum visits will be organized as part of the seminar. Each visit will be an opportunity to test in detail one or more interactive media devices, designed and developed specifically for that museum.
Divided into small groups, the participants will choose one of these museums, visit it for the first time on their own and meet a member of the museum team.
Based on this initial visit, they will design their evaluation question and prepare an evaluation method.
During the visit of the museum by all the students, the members of the sub-group will present and lead an evaluation session (questionnaire, test, interviews...) in which the other students will participate.
Once the museum visits are over, the second part of the seminar will consist of the presentation of the evaluation report by the different groups, followed by a debate for all participants.
Teaching methods
Initial presentation of the museums and their facilities
Putting groups in contact with the staff of the various museums
Organization of group visits
Animation of the debates following the presentations of the evaluations by the groups
Final presentation of the "making-of" of the different devices analyzed
Evaluation methods
Ongoing assessment of students' active participation in the seminar, particularly in the assessment work conducted by their subgroup.
Self and peer evaluation will be part of the student evaluation process.
Please note that if you participate in the seminar in the second session, you must
- select a museum and an interactive media device within it
- contact a representative of this museum and meet with him/her to design a relevant evaluation question
- conduct the evaluation process alone, involving museum visitors in the questionnaire and/or interviews
- present the results of their evaluation to the teacher (oral presentation supported by a slideshow)
Other information
English-friendly: students who wish to do so may participate in discussions and present their evaluation report in English rather than in French.
