Prerequisites
Knowledge of ecology and biogeography at the baccalaureate level.
Main themes
Current environmental problems (e.g. global change, GMOs, land use,... ) will be presented and then discussed and debated.
With the analysis of the content of articles (both scientific and in the popular press) on these themes the student should be able to critically analyze these problems and give his/her own arguments.
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

Content
The main goal of the course is to initiate a critical and scientific analysis of current environmental and ecological problems.
Different aspects will be addressed such as climate change, the biodiversity crisis, pollution, waste of resources.
We will also work on the search for solutions.
The students will prepare a synthesis on one of the topics discussed.
Teaching methods
The material is analyzed through lectures, readings, film analysis, and personal work.
Evaluation methods
Written report with oral presentation.
