Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 The master personal project involves the writing of a report, the public oral presentation and defense about the training that the student performed in the course LENVI2199. The student must develop the capacity to synthesize the interdisciplinary approach developed as part of his training and the obtained results. He/she must also develop his/her capacity to critically analyse the approach followed during his/her training, the results achieved, and the implementation of his internship at the host institution as wel. Finally, (s)he must develop his/her capacity to write, present and defend orally his/her work and critical analysis.
 
Content
The master personal project involves the writing of a report of about 100,000 characters by the student. The writing of this report is an indispensable and inseparable part of the Master (120) Science and environmental management. During his/her internship, the student will submit his/her draft report to the local tutor and to the supervisor, in order to benefit from their advices. The final report can only be printed after approval of the supervisor. The training work will also be publicly and orally presented and defended face to a jury. The jury will be chaired by the professors responsible for LENVI2199 and will also be composed of the UCL supervisor, the local tutor and a reader proposed by the student, the jury members need to have a university or industrial engineer education, or a significant experience in the environmental field involved in the internship.

The report and presentation guidelines g are described in ad-hoc documents available on Moodle. The assessment of the project work covers its technical and scientific content, the rigor of the approach and the quality of analysis and synthesis, as well as quality of writing and of oral presentation.
