Content
This internship will focus on the profession of researcher and the activities specific to scientific research: it will allow the student to approach current research within a research team and to participate actively, under the direction of a supervisor within UCLouvain, a Belgian team outside UCLouvain or a foreign team within a university associated with UCLouvain via the ERASMUS interuniversity agreements.
Teaching methods
At the beginning of the year, each trainee would submit a letter of motivation and a CV.  The academics gathered around the head of the finality will check and organize the quality of the internship projects and validate the choices of interns.
  1. Internal" internship. The intern will work under the direct supervision of one of the researchers/academics of the CP HIST, the LaRHis or another associated centre to which CP members belong, who will regularly propose one or more internship projects.
  2. External" internship. The trainee will work in the framework of a research institution external to the UCL (in Belgium or possibly abroad), which is in direct contact with a UCL researcher/academic, on the basis of a well established project.
  3. Erasmus" internship. The trainee will work under the direct supervision of a researcher/academic from his/her host university, who is in direct contact with a researcher/academic corresponding to the UCL, on the basis of a well established project. A priori, the 10 internship credits would count in this configuration as part of the 30 credits associated with the ERASMUS stay.
Evaluation methods
The evaluation will be carried out on the basis of an internship report submitted by the trainee, with a note proposed by the researcher "internship supervisor" and possibly his Louvain-based contact person (if this researcher is outside Leuven), then endorsed by the person in charge of internships for the purpose.
