Main themes
Knowing how to palpate the different anatomical structures (palpatory anatomy) is an indispensable skill for the examination of the patient.
Demonstrations on anatomical parts (Dissection) contribute to a better integration of the palpatory anatomy.
The basics of the physical therapy assessment will also be discussed in this course.
The basic techniques, namely passive mobilization, active mobilization and soft tissue manipulations (including massage) are taught in this course.  
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 At the end of this teaching entity, the student should be able to perform the basic techniques of physiotherapy: palpation and identification of bone and soft tissue, evaluation of muscle function, physical therapy assessment, passive mobilisation, active mobilisation, soft tissue manipulation and massage.

Teaching methods
The training in physiotherapy requires an apprenticeship under the same conditions as those encountered in the practice of the profession of physiotherapist. Practical courses of basic physiotherapy techniques therefore involve practicing on another student who plays the role of the patient and lending oneself to the role of patient. As a result, students who play the role of the patient are sometimes required to undress as they would in a physiotherapy practice (but with underwear on).
In order to ensure that each student encounters a maximum number of cases, as in clinical practice, the groups are mixed.
These practical courses are the basis for learning the profession and are carried out with absolute respect for each person's body. This is the basis for learning professional ethics. Any questionable practice will be immediately sanctioned.
