This chronological approach from Antiquity to the contemporary period aims to provide an introduction to the main frameworks and the essential historical concepts related to them, to discover the variety of sources at the disposal of the historian as well as various issues in research.
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

By the end of the course, students will have acquired the following skills:
1. Knowledge :
  • A core of basic knowledge through a chronology common to the different disciplines being taught (archaeology, history, history of art, literature), to reinforce general knowledge so as to be able to take the specialised training courses offered by the Faculty ;
2. Expertise :
  • Creation of links within the discipline and between the different disciplines taught during the first term;
  • Appropriate and efficient use of the different procedures and tools provided by the lecturers and the tutor, to make learning more efficient and to promote success.
