An introduction to ancient Greek literature.
This course deals with the following themes:
1. An overview of the history of Greek literature;
2. A presentation of the principal works.
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 At the end of this course, the student will have acquired a general view of Greek literature, within a chronological and historic framework. He will be familiar with the Greek authors whose works are prescribed reading in the course.
 
Content
Introduction to Greek ancient literature.
This course covers the following topics:
1. An overview of the history of Greek literature;
2. A presentation of the major works.
Teaching methods
Lecture illustrated by reading excerpts. 
The learning process has three components:
- Overview of Greek literature. In addition to the notes taken in class, two basic textbooks are recommended:

- Reading of excerpts and reading notes.
- A three-page paper on a Greek literary work of your choice, carefully structured and written.

Oral examination on the whole subject (10)
A 3-page paper for each partial exam (5)
