Spanish: Translation

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

• Identify the sender and the function of the source text.
• Identify the difficulties of the source text (lexical, terminological, phraseological and thematic).
• Identify your information and documentation needs.
• Select the documents in the target language and in the source language necessary to understand the source text and to formulate the target text, taking into account the documentation needs identified in the previous step.
• Use advanced Google© search and online terminology databases.
• Translate, in a given time period, from language C into language A, a new text on a topic covered in the course, based on the documents selected and the consultation of terminology databases.

• mobilise the methods of analysis, the tools of comprehension and demonstrate a spirit of synthesis to quickly decode the content of a text written in Spanish and to render it with ease in French;
• mobilise in his/her practice the theoretically founded transposition techniques up to the point of their automation.
• detect the underlying socio-cultural components of the text and transpose them in the most appropriate way into French;
• demonstrate flexibility and alertness in order to adapt to new and immediate communication situations.
