Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 - To understand the contributions of psychology to the models and methods of criminology and the study of delinquency.
 
Content
The course is dedicated to the understanding of the man (offender). Beyond a consideration of the individual reduced to his criminal dimension, the basic objective consists in a study of the "man in situation" meeting the particularities of delinquency. Carrying out this complex task (and therefore proceeding to a series of deconstructions), consists in proceeding 1/ to an understanding of the prison experience, 2/ to an understanding of the delinquent individual and the criminological processes, 3/ to an understanding (through the practice of expertise) of the innocent or guilty subject, 4/ to an analysis of the history of the psychological understanding of delinquents. Final, 5/ a comprehensive analysis of Jonas case will be carried out.

Written exam
Attendance at practical sessions is required. In accordance with article 72 of the General Regulations for Studies and Examinations, the Professors may propose to the jury that a student who has at least two unjustified absences for the practical sessions, be refused registration for the January, June or September session.
