The course pursues two objectives: 1) to initiate the students to different issues that lie at the intersection between “law, ethics and politics”; 2) to immerse the students in the Dutch language, the teaching language of this course. |

Content
The course begins with a discussion of some basic theories of morality, ethics and the rule of law, and subsequently focuses on a series of case studies (varying each year) to show where and how political and ethical considerations come into play in law, and how to solve the resulting issues.
Teaching methods
The course is in the form of lectures (accompagnied by a reader and slides, that provide the course outline).

Written examination (2h, 2 open questions)

The PowerPoint slides and a collection of texts (reader) are available to students on Moodle. The reader is provided on Moodle as well as being available via the reprography.
