The aim of the course is to give the students the necessary benchmarks to find their way in the history of Metaphysics, by proposing them interpretation keys in order to understand the specific conceptual and systematic features of the metaphysical discourse. The purpose is to show that Metaphysics is not a closed chapter, but instead can be the object of a living research and has very concrete effects on other domains of culture. | |
Content
The contents of the course could vary from one year to another, following one of these three schemes: 1) commenting a major metaphysical text (or a system) and its reading and critical reception through the tradition; 2) reconstructing a central theme in the history of metaphysics; 3) analysing a transversal concept of said history and its evolutions and transformations.
