Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

At the end of the two modules, the student
- will be able to participate actively (with a clear and natural pronunciation and intonation) in formal and informal discussions with a degree of spontaneity and ease that makes possible a normal interaction with a native speaker.
- will be able to develop an argumentation (to highlight the significant points, to sequence arguments with logic, to widen and confirm his points of view by secondary arguments and relevant examples) on various subjects.
- will be able to situate the key periods of Turkish history in its geopolitical, economic, social and cultural dimension.
- will be able to mobilize the acquired linguistic and cultural knowledge in order to target its information and documentation needs.
- will update and extend his linguistic and cultural knowledge, both in language A and FL on the basis of theoretical knowledge that he has tamed.
- will have memorized thematic lexicons of the Turkish language.
 
Content
First term: Language

For theoretical part: systematic study of vocabulary, idiomatic expressions by themes.
For practical part: readings and exercises to control and use vocabulary.

Second term: Culture
For theoretical part: study of the different civilizational aspects of Turkey (geography, history, art, customs).
For practical part: listening, reading, understanding, presentation and discussion activities related to cultural and societal subjects.
Teaching methods
- Lecture
- Presentations by students
- Practical exercises in face-to-face or at home
Evaluation methods
First term: Language

For practical part (50 % of final result):
• Continuous (formative) assessment based on student presentations, active participation, submitting homework and projects regularly (25 % of final result).
AND
• Summative evaluation based on final individual oral exam at the end of the semester (25 % of final result).
For theoretical part (50 % of final result):
Summative written assessment at the end of the semester.
September exam :
The  continuous assessment mark will not be taken into account.

AND
the oral exam (50% of final result).


Second term: Culture
