This course offers to discover the contribution of geography in the context of public health. How do our intractions with our surroundings affect our health? How can the tools of geography, such as cartography and modelling, give a valuable additional perspective to undersatnd today's health related challenges? The angle chosen for all topics we will cover is space. We will cover a broad diversity of topics that includes: infectious diseases in History and today in the context of global environmental change and climate change, analysis of chronic diseases in the geographic context, using spatial data, the offer of health services, biodiversity, the concepts of One Health and ecohealth. 
Teaching methods
Lectures and practicals. The practicals aim at producing a mini-research on a topic selected by the student.
Hybrid format 
To facilitate participation by students in programs not based in LLN, the course is presented as a hybrid format.
Please note:
1. This is exclusively proposed to students enrolled in programs not based in LLN ;  
2. Some classes/practicals will be exclusively held in person. This concerns classes of weeks 1, 10 and 14. 
3 . Students who could follow the on-line format are welcome to joint in person session, in the course as well as in the practicals. 
Evaluation methods
Theory: 50% of the final marks, including 60% as a written exam on lectures and 40% continuous assessment  
Practice: written assignement (50% of the final marks, of which 75% are allocated to the written work and 25% to an oral presentation). The objective is to discuss in depth elements presented in class for a specific topic selected by the student, with a focus on spatial aspects. 
The marks on the continuous assessment is attached to all exam sessions of the academic year. 
The practical part can only be presented during the semester.
