- Introduction to some basic technical elements related to the operation of digital tools
- Historical and sociological perspective: how technological advances (writing, printing, digital) affect and are affected by sociological developments.
- Context of emergence of computing, internet and web
- Artificial intelligence and deep learning
- Economic sociology and digital platforms
- Digital and evolution of particular fields (for example: work, journalism, education, family, health, justice, etc.).
- Relationship to oneself, relationship to others in the digital universe (contribution of psychology)
- Relationship to information in a digital world
Teaching methods
Lectures by the professor and guest researchers.
The professor may ask students to prepare some lessons with a personal research of information.
Evaluation methods
Students will realize a research by group (design and implementation of a sociological investigation) and take a written exam.
