2 Specific learning outcomes on completion of teaching unit
On completion of this teaching unit the student will be able to:
  • integrate into the professional world as a competent and responsible actor;
  • evolve in new professional spheres and environments.
At the end of the placement, the student will give an account of his/her learning achievements in a written report of about 15 pages in language A, showing that he/she is able to:
  • present in a synthetic way, separating the essential from the accessory, the activities of the host company, its place in the professional market, its development prospects;
  • present the tasks carried out during the placement, illustrating them by analysing the difficulties encountered and the solutions found;
  • highlight, with a critical mind, the achievements of the placement in terms of professional and personal development.

Content
The internship consists of a professional immersion activity (50 working days - 40 working days for the students of the "finalité didactique") in a company, a public or parapublic body, a translation agency or office, a national or international institution, with a freelance translator, etc. The tasks to be carried out involve translation or language transfer in the broadest sense: translation, translation project management, terminology, audiovisual translation, localization, revision, post-editing, writing, etc.
Evaluation methods
After the completion of the traineeship, students will account for their learning outcomes by means of a written report (± 15 pages) in the A language;
The traineeship is assessed by the academic supervisor. The assessment takes into account:
  • the student's performance during the traineeship based on the mentor's report and the contacts between the academic supervisor and the mentor (70% of the global score);
  • the student's written report (30% of the global score). Instructions for the written report will be given to students before they leave for their traineeship.
The two parts of the traineeship must be evaluated, otherwise it will not be validated.
