Content
The course covers methods of inquiry (hypothesis-driven inquiry), open sources and physical sources, and validation of information. It explains and implements master file maintenance. The course also deals with reporting methods, the relationship to the field and narrative writing. It provides guidelines for the use of specific journalistic genres. Students will be required to carry out practical work in a journalistic production situation.
Teaching methods
This course consists of lectures followed by practical support. This support can be organised individually, in small or large groups. The emphasis is on the student's personal development.
Evaluation methods
At the end of this course, students will be able to :
- master the fundamental skills of criticism and selection, narration and management of multimedia journalistic information;
- demonstrate their ability to process and validate information;
- master access to open and physical sources as well as how to protect them and the different ways in which they can be used;
- deepen mastery of specific narrative and writing techniques ;
- master the techniques of publishing and promoting investigative reporting.
These skills will be assessed on an ongoing basis, taking into account the student's progress. Some assignments will have to be completed in real time.
