Main themes
This course introduce to the current debates in development studies. It aims to equip students with tools to analyze theories, projects, politics and practices of development.
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 To master the main development theories and orientations
To be able to use the analytical tools provided to analyze projects and practices of development
To be able to participate to a debate on contemporary development issues, at a global a local level
To be able to present, with solid arguments, a critical point of view on development
 
Content
The course c presents the main trends of development from 1950 to the years 2020 and series of thematic workshops on contemporary development issues. Online documents and forums will be also available on the Moodle platform.
Teaching methods
The course will contain lectures, guest lectures and participatory.
The course is accompanied by a set of required readings available online and activities to be carried out before or after the course sessions.

Evaluation methods
The evaluation will be splited between participation to the on-ligne activities and a written exam. 
In case of a second exam, the teacher decides on an appropriate examination procedure. All the information will be available on Moodle.
The use of artificial intelligence during the assessment tests of this course is governed by the rules mentioned in the faculty note on this subject and available on the faculty intranet site in the information for students.
