Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

First of all, the student is encouraged to develop a thorough general knowledge. This will help him/her to better handle the translation work. They are introduced to the translation of Arabic - French texts of a basic level of difficulty.
Emphasis is placed on errors commonly made in the student's mastery of the French language (concordance of tenses, grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, etc.) as well as on translation errors proper (syntax, sentence structure, calque effect, misinterpretation, nonsense, omissions).
