Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

At the end of the year, the students should know the morphology of the language, be able to write a short text, express themselves in simple everyday life situations and present a piece of work prepared beforehand.

As studies of French and Romance Language and Literature are centred on the linguistic and literary areas, the course is designed from the outset to raise the students’ awareness of Spanish literature as well as its cultural and linguistic diversity.

At the end of the course students will have reached the A1-A2 level defined by the Common European Framework of Reference.
 
Content
The course provides basic training in Spanish through a practical learning of the language. The students will deepen their knowledge of Spanish grammar, which is indispensable to the development of oral and written expression.

Development of receptive (reading comprehension or comprehension of simple messages in standard language) and production skills (conversation: communicative situations of every day life, written essays).

Teaching methods
In-person and online components:
Ex cathedra lecture on Spanish grammar
Practical exercises of comprehension and production that imply active participation of the students
Semi-autonomous learning of vocabulary

Evaluation methods
At the end of each term, a final mark is given whose repartition is:
 
1st term:
  • 30 % ongoing evaluation (vocabulary and grammar tests, exercises and oral presentations (see calendar on Moodle)
  • 70%: final exam (1st term: only written examination)

2nd term:
  • 30 % ongoing evaluation (vocabulary and grammar tests, exercises and oral presentations (see calendar on Moodle)
  • 70%: final exam (2nd term written and oral examination)

Final mark of the UE: 1st term 40%, 2nd term 60%
Unless otherwise stated, the use of generative AI is of course forbidden for any activity subject to evaluation.
