By the end of the course, students are expected to have acquired a thorough knowledge of the works studied as well as the capacity to analyse them according to the reading approaches and hypotheses covered during the course; they will have to be able to reproduce this type of analysis on other similar works.

Content
The course will be devoted to literature until the 20th century. After a theoretical introduction presenting the essential concepts, the course will propose different approaches as well as their criticism. We see this course as an invitation to analysis and an introduction to the fundamentals of writing a scientific paper on text analysis. The course theme changes from year to year.
Teaching methods
The course is taught by the lecturer. Nevertheless, the students are invited to take an active part in the classroom through group discussions and prior readings of the works.
Moreover, each student will be required to submit an individual assignment.
