Content
Class activities will be based on the mastery of the four academic language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking, with a focus on the productive skills (speaking and writing):
- Academic grammar refresher
- Academic vocabulary refresher
- Effective avademic essay writing
- Academic listening skills
- Academic debating skills (focus on sustainable development, transition and the SDGs, as well as on EDI, equity, diversity and inclusion)
- Academic presentation skills
- Academic reading skills

Evaluation methods
- Continuous assessment throughout both terms (Q1 and Q2):
- The weighting for continuous assessment in Q1 is 130 marks out of a total of 160 marks
- The weighting for continuous assessment in Q1 is 90 marks out of a total of 120 marks
- Test at the end of Q1 (out of 30 marks)
- Test at the end of Q2 (out of 30 marks)
- At the end of the academic year (June session), the marks obtained in Q1 and Q2 are added up, out of a total of 280 marks
The student loses 25% of his or her total grade (June session) if he/she has been absent for more than two sessions per quadrimester (a total of four absences per year not backed up by a medical certificate; i.e., 12.5 % per term)
