Content
This teaching unit consists in analyzing and understanding the current field of global change (climate change, generalized urbanization, deforestation, etc.). The expression "global changes" refers to all the changes that are observed on the scale of the entire planet. Changing demographics or the emergence of a generalized urban way of life are societal phenomena, while climate change or the accelerated loss of biodiversity relate to the environment. While most of these changes have their origin in the emergence of modern industrial society, some of them may be much older: overexploitation of land and the phenomena of erosion, even desertification, which accompany it are multi-millennial issues.
Teaching methods
There is a theoretical part (classroom course with several interactions) and a practical part, which is done individually and consists of reading a book of this field (imposed by the lecturer).
Lectures are in english.

Evaluation methods
