Thermodynamics :
  • Steam thermodynamics
  • Steam (TV), gas (TG) and combined (TGV) production cycles, concept of cogeneration (introduction)
  • Compression refrigeration cycles/heat pumps, introduction to cycles and performance criteria
Heat transfer :
  • Heat transfer in steady state
  • Heat transfer by transient conduction
  • Heat transfer by natural and forced convection
  • Heat exchangers: operation and design
Mass transfer :
  • Vapour diagram: Development and applications
Exercises :
  • Fluid physics and units
  • Quantity of motion
  • Pressure losses
  • Calculation of driving and receiving machines under different conditions
