Teaching methods
- Presentation of research methodologies, criticism and the use of sources for journalistic research.
- Individual practical exercises (research, criticism and writing) based on the use of different types of sources.
- Individual assessment of each student's work
Evaluation methods
- There are no exam sessions.
- Continuous individual assessment of the student in the context of exercises linked to the use of sources and their appropriation in a journalistic production.
- Assignments (4) are mostly carried out in real time, using sources and data available online, based on documents to be appropriated, verified or exploited.
- At the beginning of the term, students also submit a reflective assignment based on a portfolio of readings dealing with the issues involved in criticism and researching sources.
- Students who fail the course will repeat a set of exercises summarising the material assessed during the four-month period, as well as the reflective assignment if they fail.
Other information
Exercises may require the ability to process English and possibly Dutch language sources.
