One week of field work in the region of Famenne/Ardenne in Belgium. The students will be split in small groups working on various contemporary issues such as sustainable development, reduction of carbon emissions/carbon storage, health/One Health, European agricultural policies (e.g. Farm to Fork).
Students will learn the following competences: capacity to work in small groups; synthetic oral presentation, integrating an analysis of the literature, data analysis, analysis of data and information collected on the field; written presentation of results, including for non-specialist audiences; capacity to confront theories and models to reality by using the specific field-base case studies.

Teaching methods
A preparatory research will be carried out by the students, based on the topics attributed to the groups formed. On the field, the time will be shared between the groups’ own research and various presentations, including by field experts.
Evaluation methods
- Presentation during the preparation session (10%, graded by group)
- Oral presentation at the end of the field week: 20minutes (15min + 5min questions; 25%, graded individually)
- Group report. 50%, graded by group. The report will include a proposition of press release for the local and regional press.
- Self-reflexive assessment 15%. Students will analyze their own experience and work
