Main themes
This course will expose students to the issue of the social responsibility of public and private decision makers in economic life. The questions addressed include: How to take into account societal factors when making a decision, beyond direct economic impact and legal compliance ? Why should those factors be considered ? What are the challenges relalted to that issue ? In particular, how to define and act according to the "common good" ? What are the circumstances and settings that facilitare the practice of social responsibility ?

Content
This course in two parts will combine a series of introductory classes on the notion of social responsibility from a philosophical point of view (taught by professor A. Gosseries), and a week of classes devoted to applying feminism to firms (taught by Prof. A. Gheaus)
Evaluation methods
Evaluation will be made through a written essay and an oral exam on the essay and on specific points of the course. Presence and participation in class will also be taken into account.
