Contribution of teaching unit to learning outcomes assigned to programme With regard to the learning outcomes assigned to the Master's programme in Interpreting, this teaching unit contributes to the development and acquisition of the following goals: 1.5, 6.1, 6.3, 8.6 On completion of this course the student will be able to: - Correctly render in Dutch the message originally delivered in French, in a way that is structured and neutral, respecting the communicative conventions that specifically apply in the context and adapting the communication to the target audience and to the intentions of the speaker; - Adapt presentation to meet the listeners' needs whilst remaining true to the original talk and the context in which it is delivered; - Demonstrate an ability to concentrate and persevere and to maintain self-mastery especially in stressful situations; |

The course aims to provide students with an initial set of skills in consecutive interpretation from French into Dutch.
The objectives of this course are based on the following learning objectives
The objectives of this course are based on the following learning objectives
- to transmit the original message expressed in language A correctly into Dutch;
- to update one's knowledge of the Dutch language;
- to master and mobilize methods of analysis and to demonstrate a spirit of synthesis in order to distinguish the essential from the accessory in the discourse, respecting the nuances;
- to develop the ability to distantiate and analyze a speech in depth;
- communicate in such a way as to establish a climate of trust with his/her listeners;
- demonstrate flexibility and alertness to adapt to new and immediate communication situations.
- mobilize his/her listening skills and in-depth analysis of the speech in order to identify its structure, logical links and sequences, to capture its essence, to distinguish the essential from the accessory, to distantiate;
- restore the message thus understood in a coherent and structured way in a correct, precise, fluid Dutch adapted to the register of the speech delivered in French.

Face-to-face with the possibility of distance learning.
Evaluation methods
Continuous formative assessment (not graded) and certificative assessment (examination) at the end of the term.
