Evaluation methods
In this course, students are assessed in two ways:
- a written exam (90% of the final grade)
- continuous evaluation (10% of the final grade)
The written exam covers all the material covered in the course. This is, on the one hand, the material exposed in the lecture (content of the presentations, slides and videos) and, on the other hand, the material exposed in writing and identified as such by the lecturer. The written exam consists of open-ended questions concerning basic knowledge of the course material and concerning in-depth knowledge of the links between the different elements of the course.
Continuous evaluation is based on participation in exercises on Moodle. During the semester, the lecturer will provide students with excercises related to the content of the lectures. The grade for the continuous assessment is determined by the participation in the exercises. This continuous assessment can only be organized once per academic year (in the first term). Once obtained, the grade for the continuous evaluation is then deemed to be attached to each of the exam sessions of the academic year.

This course is given in an “English-friendly” format. This means that:
This course is given in an “English-friendly” format. This means that:
- The core reading for the course is in French, but equivalent core reading is available for students in English
- The standard exam is a written exam in French. However, students taking this course will be allowed to use a dictionary when taking the written exam in French. Student are provided with the opportunity to take the written exam in English.
- The course requires coursework in French. However, students taking this course can provide the coursework in English.
