The course of historical criticism systematically traverses all the essential stages of the historical approach: the choice of the subject and the definition of problems; documentary or heuristic research; use of 'auxiliary sciences'; critical analysis itself; the synthesis; data processing and written presentation. Through this course, a place is made for historiography, the epistemology and the encyclopedia of history.
Learning outcomes

1 - correctly articulate the historical approach with theological discourse.

2 - develop a systematic critical reflection on the works and sources relating to the Christian past.

Content
The course in historical critique systematically covers all the essential phases of the historical process: the choice of subject and the definition of a problematic; documentary or heuristic research; recourse to the "auxiliary sciences"; the critical analysis proper; the synthesis: the elaboration of data and the written presentation. Throughout this process, a place is given to historiography, epistemology and the encyclopaedia of history.
At the end of this activity, the student will be able to correctly articulate the historical approach and theological discourses, as well as to develop a systematic critical reflection on works and sources relating to the Christian past.
Teaching methods
The course takes place in the second term and is face-to-face.
However, the small number of students means that there is plenty of opportunity to discuss the subject matter.
Evaluation methods
Oral examination (list of questions passed on beforehand) (3 minutes of answer per question).
