The course of political economy aims to provide students with an initial acquaintance with economic concepts. It covers an understanding of individual behaviours of the various economic agents (consumer, producer) and describe how they interact in the various markets (eg: goods, services). The course also presents the principles of public interventions. The theory is completed with concrete examples related to the health sector. Tutorials include practical work sessions.
Teaching methods
The course is delivered with the support of slides presenting the main theoretical definitions and presenting concrete illustrations of the health and social sector.. Interactive Q&A sessions of 30 to 45 min ropen each new session and students are invited to participate orally. Tutorials cover a series of exercises as well as articles, blog or newspapers reading, an example of exam script.
Evaluation methods
Written exam (2h) composed of 3 exercises similar to the one seen in class or tutorials. A mock exam will be seen done as part of tutorials.

The course is based on a slide show available on Moodle a week before each class. All the resources useful to understand the course are available on Moodle. A list of exercices will also be provided

Bibliography
Les quatres sources suivantes sont disponibles sur Moodle: le diaporama du cours, les fiches de compréhension du cours et les supports des séances de rappels ainsi qu'un livret d’exercices des TPs. Elles seront suffisantes pour une bonne compréhension du cours et réussir l’évaluation.
