In the current economic context of multiple crises, facing increasingly complex challenges, the interaction between academia and business is more essential than ever to create and share knowledge and value for the whole of society.
in 2016 at the initiative of FEB, UCLouvain (LSM) and KU Leuven, the Belgian Business Champions Chair is a very good concrete illustration of this. The Chair aims to highlight Belgian companies that are successfully meeting both strategic and societal challenges.
Following the example of the strategic business cases produced by the greatest universities (Harvard, Stanford, Insead) and widely taught in business schools throughout the world, the Belgian Business Champions Chair is mobilising to give an international scope to typically Belgian practical cases from the flagship of our national companies.
Seven case studies have been produced in recent years, covering various sectors (BARCO, BEKAERT, DEME, LUNCH GARDEN, SOLVAY, SPADEL and UCB), leading to the creation of a 100% Belgian Master Class!
Beyond these promising beginnings, the three partners validated, on October 4, 2022, the development of the Chair until at least 2025. Strategic and academic management recognized in the Belgian style still has a long way to go and many successes to show for it.
