On January 30th, LouRIM members came together for the annual LouRIM Research Day, formerly known as the "LouRIM Award". The event of this year was an opportunity for all our members to get together to celebrate the research carried out and supported by the Institute once a year.
This year, our Research Day was divided into three parts. The morning was divided in two parts. We had first a research dating, where each researcher had the opportunity to meet five others, in order to get to know each other and generate new opportunities, and secondly the Institute Council, to share relevant information about the life of the Institute with as many people as possible. After a nice lunch shared together, the afternoon was the opportunity to discover other aspects of research, with presentations by Chloe Satinet, Gordy Pleyers, Corentin Hericher and James Thewissen.
This year, rather than presenting the content of their papers, our researchers presented the behind the scenes of their research! Processes, publication experiences, the evolution of research in the ‘real’ world, advice, etc. were all shared.
The feedback was very positive, and we would like to thank our members for helping to make the day a success! See you next year, to discover a recent “remarkable” research project. With this, the institute really aims to encourage and reinforce collaborations and inter-disciplinarity in research.
