A Supervised Machine Learning Classification Framework for Clothing Products’ Sustainability explores how artificial intelligence can help assess the environmental impact of clothing products quickly, reliably, and without the heavy data requirements of traditional life cycle assessments. By testing nine machine learning algorithms on over a thousand garments, this study identifies the most effective model for predicting sustainability with limited information. A promising step towards developing a single, comprehensive environmental label for the fashion industry and helping consumers make more conscious choices.
