Faculty position in digital electronics

UCLouvain will soon (October 2022) invite applications for a tenure track or tenured full-time faculty position in digital electronics

UCLouvain is a comprehensive university offering the opportunity of cross-disciplinary research and teaching collaborations. The position is attached to the Louvain School of Engineering (Ecole Polytechnique de Louvain) and the ICTEAM research institute that benefits from large funding at Regional and European levels combined with a large number of industrial projects. The Institute comprises common platforms for micro-and-nano-fabrication and characterization of electronic systems. The Louvain-la-Neuve town hosting the campus offers a unique modern living environment inside a naturally preserved neighborhood, conveniently connected to the heart of Europe.

This position involves teaching in the field of electronics at the Masters level (in English), with a special focus on digital circuits, computer architecture and embedded programming. The selected candidate will also contribute to teaching the physics of electricity and basic electronic circuits in the Bachelors program (after learning French if necessary).

The successful candidate is expected to develop a research program in the field of digital electronics including embedded systems, digital hardware architectures, processors, or co-processors with the implementation of emerging algorithms in different fields. The research will comprise a prototyping activity for instance  on FPGA or custom integrated circuits, including a link with industrial use cases.

The candidates must hold a PhD degree in electronics or a related discipline with a significant scientific record.

This is a pre-announcement. The position will be officially opened on the UCLouvain website around mid-October, 2022 (see UCLouvain jobsite). The deadline for application will probably be near November 15, 2022. Only applications through the UCLouvain jobsite will be considered. Applications sent by e-mail, and requests for preliminary evaluation of CV or profile will not be considered. Other questions may be sent to Prof. Michel Verleysen, Head of the ICTEAM research institute (president-ictm@uclouvain.be).
