December 22, 2017
We are pleased to announce that the 7th Annual Christmas Meeting of Belgian Economists will take place on Friday December 22 at the Department of Economics of the University of Leuven. The event is a joint organization of ECORES and IRES.
- Michèle Belot (European University Institute and University of Edinburgh)
- Gérard Roland (University of California-Berkeley)
As in the previous years, the idea is to have a relaxed day of presentations and exchanges. Lunch, coffee breaks and a reception afterwards will be provided by the University of Leuven. Unfortunately we do not have extra funds for travel, so we rely on the fact that most of you come back around this time to Belgium.
On top of our two keynote speakers, we intend to have 5 presentations of 30 minutes. If you would like to present, please send a title and abstract to Heidi De Vadder (firstname.lastname@example.org). We usually allocate slots on a first come first served basis, but we also want to make sure that we have a good mix of fields and universities. We now have quite an impressive network of Belgians working abroad, so we expect that this will be a high quality and enjoyable meeting.
The deadline for submission of abstracts is November 15. The final program will be decided upon very shortly after this deadline. At the same time we will send out the program to the various Belgian economics departments.
Please feel free to pass on this information to others.
Looking forward to seeing you all in December,
Laurens Cherchye (University of Leuven)
Bram De Rock (ECARES-ULB and University of Leuven)
Johannes Spinnewijn (London School of Economics)
Gonzague Vannoorenberghe (Université Catholique de Louvain)
Frederic Vermeulen (University of Leuven)
