On November 12th, Sandrine Verstraeten publicly defended her thesis entitled: "Contribution of membrane lipids to the activity of the saponin ginsenoside Rh2". Her promotors were Prof. Marie-Paule Mingeot-Leclercq (FACM; LDRI) and prof. Donatienne Tyteca (CELL, DDUV).
Her work has been published in the following papers:
- The activity of the saponin ginsenoside Rh2 is enhanced by the interaction with membrane sphingomyelin but depressed by cholesterol. Scientific Reports (2019) 9:7285 (14 printed pages)
- Membrane cholesterol delays cellular apoptosis induced by ginsenoside Rh2, a steroid saponin . Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology (2018) 18;352:59-67
