Thursday evening the 25th May, the Belgian final of the contest ‘Ma thèse en 180 secondes’ took place in Brussels, on the campus of the ULB. 19 candidates from the Belgian French speaking universities presented a talk explaining their thesis project to a broad and potentially non-scientific public, in 3 minutes and with only one slide. For all candidates, this was the unique opportunity to talk about their thesis subject to a wide audience and perfect their communication skills in front of a big auditorium ! One candidate, Martin Delguste, PhD Student in the nanobiophysics lab of the LIBST, was selected to represent Belgium at the international final in Lausanne on September 27.
