Title:

Using Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) in Management and Social Sciences

Presentation:

The use of Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) methods is increasing rapidly. They distinguish themselves from other empirical approaches, such as regression analysis or case study research. In particular, with QCA, researchers study social phenomena with the use of sets and the search for set relationships. It turns out that in virtually all disciplines in social sciences, social phenomena can be studied with set relations, and using set-theoretic methods is thus highly valuable. This session will guide the audience through the practices of QCA in management (and social science) research, and discuss issues in QCA methods, along with concrete recommendations.
