Title: "Advertising Human(nes)s Empirical Integration of Anthropomorphism and Dehumanization"
Summary: "The purpose of this thesis is to empirically examine whether humanity's attribution to products and brands (i.e. anthropomorphism) is intrinsically linked to humanity's lack of attribution to people (i.e. dehumanization). In order to understand their complementarity, a series of experimental studies have been designed to reveal the subtle context in which they can occur and to explore different cognitive mechanisms that may underlie these phenomena. The results suggest that a simple advertising photo associating a product and a brand with a person can lead to anthropomorphism and dehumanization respectively."
