A hackaton in human resource management?

LOURIM Louvain-La-Neuve, Mons

A hackathon to re-invent human resource management in a sustainable way? This is the original initiative launched by Prof. Laurent Taskin in the context of the labor-H chair in Humane management and new ways of organizing.

On December 1 and 2, 45 HR leaders, students, researchers, and experts took part to this ambitious "Reinvention of total reward management". Why this initiative?

When he launched the labor-H Chair in 2020, Prof. Laurent Taskin made the promise to meet the expectations of the founding members and to radically experience radical innovation in the field, and for the field.

This initiative comes in support, by integrating a sustainable aspect and proposing a link between the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and total reward management-associated practices.

Fourteen students from the master in HRM met with fourteen human resource managers, the six researchers from the labor-h, a dozen experts including the president of our institute, Prof. Valérie Swaen, and six facilitators. For two days, they met and contributed to transform a total reward practice into something more sustainable.

The event concluded with a 5-minute pitch of these reflections and the rewarding of three winners by a jury.

More generally, this event enabled emulation and the probable implementation of inspiring practices in companies.

A beautiful and inspiring initiative that reinvigorates transdisciplinary research and teaching!
