The Gradescope Online practice test

Your professor might organise a practice test to help you better understand the Gradescope platform and familiarise yourself with it before your first exam. In this case, your professor will inform you of specific conditions for the practice test.

In addition, you can consult the Gradescope student tutorial.

Read this tutorial well before your exam period. If technical questions persist, contact the UCLouvain Service Desk. If you have questions about the exam itself, contact your professor.

Prepare for a Gradescope exam

At first glance, you might think that unsupervised written home exams are easier since they are potentially open book and you have access to all of the information. However, this type of exam requires solid preparation if you do not want to get lost in the mass of available information, spread yourself too thin, and fail to deliver what the professor expects.

To prepare well, it is advisable to:

  • master all course requirements and the outcomes targeted by the professor’s lessons, i.e. ‘What you should be able to do at the end of the course’ (application level, synthesis, critical thinking…);
  • target essential resources, understand them well and structure them (bookmarks, summaries, etc.) so as to quickly find the requested information.
